So maybe the USAF needs to step in and shuttle people to ATH, like the Polish Air Force shuttling people with C130s to Chania, Crete (as I mentioned earlier in this thread). And then UA (and AA/DL) could pick them up there. Wonder how many US citizens are looking to leave at this time.

Lufthansa is apparently doing designated evac flights on Thursday and Friday. Wonder if their insurance covers it or if the German government is providing coverage. LH is also saying they are considering restarting regular flights on Saturday.
