Be careful on the assumption that public charges are cheaper than gas. I've recently found superchargers (Tesla and 3rd party) ~$0.50/KWh. The electrified Genesis G80 is ~34KWh/100 miles. So ~$0.16/mile if all your charging is at public superchargers. At $3.75 for fuel, that's about the equivalent of 23 mpg. If you can charge at home, it should be ~4x cheaper than a public supercharger. But you might still be better just renting some sort of efficient/hybrid car.
