Whether $525 is worth it for 94k miles seems immaterial to me if there is an option to reinstate the miles for $1000 of spend on anything charged to an AA credit card (which is zero cost). $525 for 94,000 miles is about 0.5c per mile; AA miles are easily worth that much assuming she travels at all on flights that can be on AA or knows someone who fits that bill. (Heck, even Delta miles are worth that much.) But again, she can reinstate them for far less than $525.
