There is no JV between NH and NQ. NQ is a 100% owned subsidiary of ANA Holdings, so is NH. It is all in the family.
I doubt that Air Japan as an operator for ANA mainline is going to go away. I think ANA may have been caught a bit out by Zip, and it was just quicker to use an existing AOC. it will be confusing and look forward to many threads like this.
Just to be clear I was referring to the UA/NH JV, and how NQ may or may not be "integrated" into that. As others have noted, it is likely to be entirely separate, so that any combo UA/NH booking will be on an ANA or ANA-like flight, not an AirJapan LCC style flight.
