PUCCI GALORE It's obviously no comfort if nothing BA is working for you right now, but I really was impressed by BA's implementation of this feature.

The AA version gave me the option of reading from the passport's NFC chip, but only after it had failed to scan the passport. BA's app was able to scan the machine readable code, so I don't know if there's an NFC option or not. The AA app appeared to read the NFC data but then directed the passenger to airport check-in, where she was rewarded with a BP bearing the magic letters SSSS. That might be unconnected, of course.
