Due to the situation I expect it to be cancelled for the folllowing days and beyond our return date of October 15.
We cannot wait until the official cancellation in a few days time and we cannot get stuck here for multiple reasons. So we have just booked through UA, but operated by LH, a TLV-MUC-WAW trip in Economy on October 12-13 (LH681 and LH1610).
Assuming LH keeps flying to TLV, we need to know whether we will be able to keep our original WAW-EWR leg (LO11, business), or our whole trip would get cancelled if TLV-WAW is cancelled (by LOT)? Is there anything that we need to do to make sure we keep our tickets?
Thanks,
Dan
We contacted LOT about preemptively finding an alternative but they always said that as long as out flight is not cancelled they cannot do anything. We have just received a cancellation notice from them (TLV-WAW(-EWR) on October 15). We immediately contacted LOT by phone and they declined any re-booking on another airline. Our only option is a refund.
In the last few days we had backup bookings on UA and LH that also fell through.
