So looking at the below quote from above:
In the circumstance wherein the OP is already Silver at 8th November and accumulates a further 600 points and 4 BA sectors from 9th November to requalify for Silver before 31st December 2023 they will also be eligible to receive Silver benefits until 31st December 2025 however because there has been no interim 'downgrade' to Bronze (which in this example would happen on 1st January 2024) BA's IT does not recognise the activity as a 'requalification' but as a 'retention' and the BAEC account and App will incorrectly show a 'card expiry' of 31st December 2024 instead of 2025.
In previous discussion on here it has been stated that at the following Tier Point anniversary (i.e. 8th November 2024) BA's IT will catch this error and amend the card expiry date to the correct date of 31st December 2025.......will your gold status then update to say "2025" next November, then?
Those dates (Dec 2025 etc.) were in relation to another poster's hypothetical Tier Point 'journey'. In my case at 8th Oct
2022 I had not accumulated enough TP to retain Gold and was due to drop to Silver at 1st December.
I then flew between 9th Oct and 30th Nov to qualify for Gold under what was at the time the reduced threshold of 1125 TP (by 31 Dec 2022) which under the qualifying rules should have given me Gold until my 8th Oct
2024 (remainder of 22-23 , whole of 23-24 plus a month and a bit) TP anniversary with a card expiry of 30 Nov
2024 however at the time the card expiry was only extended to 30 Nov
2023.
That has now been corrected in the TP anniversary 'housekeeping' update so I am now positioned where I expect to be.
If I earn 1500 points again this TP year (i.e. before 8th Oct 2024) Gold expiry will be pushed out to 30 Nov 2025, if not I will drop to Silver at 1st Dec 2024.
