Will you have a boarding pass for the second flight in hand? If you do, it should work. I've seen the transit area before immigration. How much time do you have between flights? Are you eligible to enter Lebanon with a visa(or visa on arrival), just in case?
Not booked yet, just considering it. I suppose there will be either an airside service desk for collecting boarding passes, or I will be able to do an online check-in.
Being a German citizen, I think can get a visa on arrival in case of a missed flight etc.
