I agree and will certainly look for nicer boutique, well managed, highly rated 'smaller' hotels/resorts. I too believe that bigger is not necessarily better. On the other hand, it is also commonly said that 'What you, pay what you get'! However, this general cliche, may not apply to hotel industry, where many small hotel owners take great pride in maintaining high quality business that puts customers first to give them admirable comfort and services.
