I have three separate claims in at the moment for EC261, and the first of these has now reached the 8 week mark. So far, just received a couple of 'we are very busy and are working on it' emails. Is it worth hanging around longer or should I head down the CEDR route - or will that complicate matters.

The claim is for three people on the same PNR, LGW-AMS was cancelled out ten days out and we went out on a later flight that got us there fours hours or so later than the original booking. It seems pretty cut and dried, and FCRY appeared to be the reason.
