A reasonable accommodation might be to allow FNAs and SNAs to transfer between husband/wife or members of the same household. Similar to how British Airways or Aeroplan allow combining of points within a household. This would help solve a number or problems, like elite recognition when traveling as a couple and one member has higher status... combine points (doable today up to 100,000 a year) and FNAs and SNAs into highest elite account and book from there.
