IME, Air Japan has been operating many of the NRT-SE Asia routes for years. Pretty sure NRT-SIN/BKK has been operated by Air Japan, at least the evening ex-NRT, early morning ex-SIN/BKK for years. I flew it (SiN last summer, and was most definitely Air Japan. Probably was when you booked and you didn’t notice.
