I don't know what your dates in September are, but some programs don't let you book more than 300 days out ir something like that (330 is more strandard I think, but AS is earlier from what I remember)
Also JL is known for releasing a lot of premium cabin space fairly close in and not so much early. So while I would certainly start looking ASAP, it may be that nothing opens up until later.
I would book J if I saw it and keep a look out for F space to change to. I've done this several times with JL awards (they like to open up F space 2 days before travel)
You might want to look at other options too. SQ would probably be a good choice if you can find the space, and can be booked through UA or AS (they are a non-alliance AS partner) as well as any *A program you can transfer to, but I've heard that SQ premium cabin partner awards are extremely rare.
