Recently completed a 4 night stay as a glob. Booked 3 back to back reservations due to last minute plan changes. The first booking was proactively upgraded to Deluxe King, at check in inquired about getting the Junior Suite for the whole 4 days. Online the junior suite was showing availability for 3 of my 4 nights, by the FDA confirmed it as available for all my nights. Said since it’s a suite, late check out would not be possible. Spoiler alert: day of departure they had no issue giving me 2 pm checkout.
Breakfast here indeed is very generous. Aside from freshly squeezed OJ, you can also make vegetable juices - carrot, beet, apple. You can mix those up in whatever combo you like. Part of the eating area is under a large glass ceiling so you get great natural light.
The minibar in my room was well stocked with alcoholic beverages: a beer, half bottle of white wine, 0.2L sparkling, and a cute 40mL bottle of Wien Gin. That’s in addition to juices, tonic water, coke and Red Bull. Curiously enough, my fridge was restocked after the first 2 night, but not after the 3rd. I have opted out of cleaning to get the minibar contents for free, so not sure if the restocking is standard, or just because I had multiple reservations.
A big hiccup during the stay was that I realized on the first morning that the room door was not getting locked, and could be opened from the outside without any key. The mechanism was temperamental and would lock itself maybe 20% of the time. It took 3 requests to FD over 24 hours to get this resolved, turned out the battery in the lock needed to be changed. They offered to change rooms right away, but I didn’t want to downgrade.
Following this predicament they left a couple of additional fruit plates and water and another bottle of wine, I suppose as an apology, though no personal note was included. They also left me a pair of souvenir books titled “how to swear and complain as an Austrian” (that’s my loose translation from German). Oh, that’s a very clever touch.
The windows open fully, which was great as the weather was wonderful outside.
The bizarre thing about the suite was that the shower/bath combo is not really separate from the room, and if you sit on the couch, you can see into the shower. A bit odd. Maybe it’s so that if one person takes a long bath, they don’t get lonely, and can interact with another person sitting on the couch?
View from the Junior Suite couch. The bed is behind the wall with the TV. The toilet is further past the shower/bath, has a door.
As a cat 1, this is a definite yes, I’m sure it will change very soon.
