1. Does anyone know how much does the breakfast buffet cost ? (Havent been able to get the price)
2. Even though I am an explorist I am not being offered an upgrade to the beach villa with pool - which I believe I should be entitled to- i called them and and was told that I would not be entitled as PH does not participate in the WOH upgrades. They instead quoted me $550 per night for the upgrade on top of points.
3. Lastly, If I book via points, how to best save food costs (neither of us are into drinks anyway)
1. Breakfast menu is here:
https://www.hyatt.com/content/dam/ho...-2023-Menu.pdf -- as others said, the buffet isn't really designed to be a standalone option, it's kind of like sides and accompaniments, but I guess you could just eat the buffet if you wanted. Seems kind of silly to worry about that cost. (or if you're a penny-pincher, you're bound to be disappointed by the Maldives because you'll be focused on the pennies rather than just having a great time at arguably the most heavenly place on earth).
2. Explorist "upgrades" are things like higher floors at business hotels... not fancier villas here.
3. Your best bet is to make it to Globalist before you travel, so that you can get the free Globalist breakfast along with the "sundowner" tray of snacks each evening. But I guess if you're
that cheap, you could bring all your own food: theoretically you could bring a suitcase with canned goods (no pork of course), tortillas, condiments, instant noodles, energy bars, and so on. That sounds like a bad version of camping IMO but if that's your life, you do you.
