My "airport mode" is not necessarily walking super fast--I rarely need to, because I am extremely good/experienced at timing out when I need to leave place A in order to arrive at place B at the precise moment that I need to be there. My airport mode is always looking ahead to the next step of what I need to do and how I need to get there, while in motion. For instance: when making a connection, while waiting for the doors to open, I check to see what my next gate is. Then immediately upon stepping out of the jetway, while walking, I am simultaneously looking for the sign pointing to the next gate (or lounge or whatever), so I can make my way to it without having to stop. Adding things like this up over the course of a jaunt through an airport saves a lot of time that many people would otherwise spend standing in front of a departures screen, looking at an airport map, looking at their phone, etc. I basically never stop moving.
