I have good news for you - you did. BA puts bags in bins based on barcode, which is set from ticketed cabin with no possibility for override. The colourful tags are only to make people feel better about themselves, it doesn’t actually make a difference to the scanning or loading process.

For a longhaul flight departing LHR, premium and non premium bags are usually loaded in bins in completely separate laterals, it makes for a more efficient operation this way. So if your barcode says you’re in Club it might be sent to lane 2, and if it sees WT it’ll be sent to lane 7. Very little chance of it not getting the priority you want in this set-up.
