Did you ever find out about this? We have an upcoming reservation on Swiss in economy. Debating of reserving 3 seats in the middle section if there was more legroom or just taking the 3 one on of the sides if there isn't. Swiss Air doesn't list them as XL seats anymore but Aerolopa says they have an additional 4 inches of legroom.
We sat in their XL seats twice last year. We were honestly very disappointed as it felt like the legroom was more or less the same as the seats on the sides. Maybe one inch more but definitely not four.
We paid to prebook the XL seats on the outbound flight, but for the homebound we decided to wait and see if we could just choose them for free during the online check-in the day before, which we could.
