A consensual application programming interface (API), https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/API , would seem to be the opposite of unauthorized web scraping, https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Web_scraping , a subset of data scraping, https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Data_scraping .

So the big question is whether these services were operating with the consent of the airlines. It would seem they were not.
