We were inside T3 for almost 90 seconds this morning before the first airport employee shouted at us.
BA check-in was operating a queue (along the back wall) to join the queue (in the tensabarrier). As the 0720 (BA1385) and 0750 (BA1383) passengers mixed in the queue, a single employee at the desks feebly called for 0720 punters to come forward ASAP.
We were about the first 0750 pax to get checked in, and after fast track and the oft-reported 30 minutes for secondary at security, we were only sat outside Costa for 15 minutes before boarding. No time for lounge. Long queues for the Costa, queues for the toilets, filth and chaos.
Flight was delayed a few minutes for both "slot delay" and for removing the luggage of the poor unfortunates who had failed to make it through the checkin/security shambles in time.
Also a bizarre thing - at some point in the process of stacking our stuff into trays at the entrance to security, I managed to cut a small piece of the end of a finger away. Didn't feel it when it happened, but on entering the scanner discovered I was dripping and leaving a trail of blood. I can't exactly blame MAN for this as I have no idea how it happened, but it nevertheless feels like a very MAN sort of thing.
