Anyone who is loud and obnoxious or disruptive to other passengers on board an aircraft should be told off. Doesn't matter which cabin and doesn’t matter what age. And that includes climbing on seats or running around in lounges on the ground or in the air.

i have no problem with people paying to travel in J and if that means they can afford to bring their children that's OK with me. But my first paragraph applies - I have a Victorian approach, children (and adults) should ideally be seen and not heard. Same applies to people watching shows on their tablets - earphones in please. Same applies to adults who think it's party time on board.

As for babies crying it is a baby's main way of communicating needs and feelings. A baby cries when they're hungry, tired, uncomfortable, sick or in pain. Sometimes they cry because they need a change of scenery or comfort, or because they need to know their parents are there.

How parents react is the issue. If the parents try to comfort their child then they deserve a bit of slack however trying and annoying it is for fellow passengers. If they don't try to do anything then that's when my sympathy evaporates.

To those who say it's public transport so it's to be expected that is true but there is also the fact that families are not the only passengers and recognition of the impact of their child crying has on others should also be taken into account. I suggest an apology to others goes a long way to mitigating the annoyance factor.
