Maybe but this buying seat things really causing a lot of issues - people started feeling that they have the right to deplane before anyone sitting behind them - even though those people are ready to go but that person still has his bags at the overhead locker. From what I can see most seats are not taken until OLCI, so I guess people are not willing to pay for a seat.
it's a common courtesy to let people in front of you deplane first, and they also need time to collect their carry-ons from overhead bins. It's a courtesy. But we live in a world of self-centered individuals. I see plenty of sour and rude people when I travel. For unknown reason, some people are prone to be irritated/angry about anything when they are on the road.
