Depends on your spend patterns - AS is great for mileage based earning. Most other programs are now spend best accrual. If you buy expensive tickets, you may be better (at least on an accrual basis) crediting to AA.

Both AsiaMiles and BA are transfer partners of quite a few credit card issuers. Neither program offers particularly great redemption value for long-haul, though BA has a real sweet spot for shorter flights.
