Attempted retention offers via Chat and phone ~10 days after AF posted.
Attempt 1: via Chat, offered 25k MR on 3k spend in 3 months. Declined, agreed to keep card open.
Attempt 2: via Chat, offered 25k MR or $250 on 3k spend in 3 months. Declined, agreed to keep card open.

Thinking I will give it one last try - and cancel if they low-balled again (previous DPs show people have got 55k retention for 4k spend). But with Amex tightening anti-churning, a critical thought is to take any MR offered for renewal.
Would it be okay by AMEX if I accept and spend to meet the 25k MR retention offer by December, then double-dip on calendar-year credits like $200 FHR, $200 Airline etc and then downgrade to Amex Green by Jan 2024 to get a prorated adjustment in AF?
I think you'll be running the risk that AMEX will claw back the retention offer. If I remember the small print of mine, you need to keep the card open for a minimum of 12 months.
