Hi, looking for some suggestions on a 1/2 week land portion of Alaska itinerary after getting off a cruise ship. Traveling w/ 2 high school kids and none of us have ever been to Alaska and we not the "outdoor type" but do enjoy taking in scenery. Travel early June.

So far this is what I am thinking:

Day 1/Wednesday

• Get off ship at Whittier in the morning.
• Take bus service to Anchorage.
• Explore Anchorage. Half the party is flying back to lower 48.
• Night in Anchorage
• Note: I couldn't find a way to do the Kenai Fjords day cruise from pick up Whittier and drop off Anchorage afterwards (besides renting a car 1 way which is crazy expensive). If someone has other suggestions, do advise.
• Also, the cruise is doing College Fjords the day before so I was planning to skip Phillips Glacier Cruise out of Whittier when we get off the ship unless there are strong recommendations for this one then we can spend our day on this tour.

Day 2/Thursday

• Drive to Seward
• Seward - Kenai Fjords day cruise
• What time cruise should I book out of Seward and what time do I need to leave Anchorage in the morning. Google maps says 2 hour drive and websites say give yourself 4 hours due to tunnel.
• Night back in Anchorage (same hotel)

Day 3/Friday

• Drive to Talkateen
• Take plane view of Denali and land of Glacier
• Drive up to Denali national park.
• Stay somewhere outside the park (need to figure this out).

Day 4/Saturday

• Morning take tour inside the park.
• Drive back to Anchorage. Can I get back by 6pm?
• Get on 8pm flight back to lower 48?
