ZRH/VIE and maybe to a lesser degree MUC are great if I fly South or East as it doesn't cost me time but realistically I use those hubs when I travel to South Africa or a handful of places in Asia, otherwise I use the SQ route from CPH. If I need to layover in FRA for a flight to the US, I have a longer feeder, I gain an hour on each leg of the long haul, a much longer layover because of the terrible airport and simply much greater chances for delays.
Now since most of my travel remains to the US and North East Asia (which is terrible to get to while the Russia operation is going on), AMS and CDG are just better hubs going East. I will typically use AMS unless I need to get to places where AF has a unique flight or unique timing of a flight (like DEN or their 18:30 flight to LAX).
Part of the point of the acquisition of Iberia was to offload and reduce the risks of LHR. It only has two runways, whether they'll ever build another would require a parliament of psychics, and one small thing going wrong and it melts down. LGW only has one and BA has long treated it as an also ran. Using them in tandem as a stretched hub has never worked.
The longstanding obsession of European airlines has been to have hubs in the most central area of the the continent. LH has won that by far. BA has nothing akin to it, but MAD is at least actually part of the EU. LIS is on the periphery, unless you can use it to effect. CPH is pretty great for proximity, hasn't dumped the low cost carriers off on secondary airports, and northern Germany's population centers so close. Once Fehmarn Belt is completed, CPH would be even closer.
