I just called in to cancel my Delta Amex Plat and was offered either 15K miles for spending $1K or $100 credit to stay. I tried to push up to 25K miles, but they wouldn't do it. I figured the miles plus the certificate plus being able to burn miles for another year at a 15% discount makes it worthwhile to hold on for one more year. I told the agent that I won't be spending more than the $1K minimum going forward as there'e no point.

On a separate note, I had to call into my non-Delta Amex Plat for an issue. At the end of the call, the operator told me "I see you have a Delta Platinum Amex on your account. Would you like to add any authorized users?" I started laughing and said what do you think. He laughed back and said that's the response all of the agents are hearing these days.
