Just an update: apparently their back office left a comment in the booking that I should request the seat confirmation 72 hours before the waitlisted flight GVA-IST. Whatever that means... But at least it is a hope they will confirm it. Very strange approach, never had such before...but doesn't help to plan my life in advance...
72 hour is very tight, especially for planning a long flight like that. I would be very worried.
