While I can't find a link, I'm reasonably sure they'll take your bags if arriving 45 minutes before departure. I believe they'll tell you 60+ minutes to accommodate passport checks, but if your bags normally make the plane at -45, I don't see why the final destination would make any difference. I rarely show up more than 45 minutes before departure and have never had an issue with them taking my bag. That said, my home airport (RNO) is quite small. I would not cut it that close if originating at DFW or CLT.

Also, keep in mind that there's no guarantee that by following official policies, things will go your way. If you routinely push it to the last second, your baggage will eventually get left behind.
