Quick update after returning home: FS Kyoto was excellent. Service was very good to absolutely excellent. F&B was very good. Sushi restaurant was excellent. I would highly recommend it.
And on a side note, Koen dc, we managed to get a booking a Monk last minute, and it was fantastic. One of the better dining experiences we have had.
I am so happy to hear this. I heard very negative comments until recently and was hoping that Fanny Guibouret, their new GM, would be able to address them... it appears she did. How is their staff these days? Hopefully many Japanese or still quite a few PRCs?
