if i am trying to redeem a ticket that requires a connecting flight such as from HKG -> LAX with JAL it would require a flight from HKG -> NRT and then NRT -> LAX. However, in the international award flight page - https://www.jal.co.jp/en/jmb/award_inter/booking/ this is not doable since it only allows HKG -> NRT, i will then need to book another leg that goes from NRT to LAX. I am fine with booking 2 separate segments, but will my luggage also automatically be transported? Just wondering if anyone has a similar experience? I tried booking with Asia Miles (for a JAL flight), and the booking is a one booking -> two flight segment booking, hence the luggage automatically transferred from one flight to another, is there any way around that?
