I have booked Hilton Molino Stucky and JW Marriott Venice in April. Both booked on points, 2 rooms for family of 4, 2 nights. Cannot seem to make up my mind which one to cancel. Any thoughts?
Trying to limit out of pocket costs. I'll get free breakfast at both hotels as Hilton Diamond and Marriott Plat. JW Marriott has no lounge, Hilton has one. Conversely, JW has free water shuttle while Hilton would cost us 120 euros for their water taxi (15 per person per day)
If it is your first stay in Venice choose the Hilton, best location and building of historical significance. The island of Giudecca is quite large and you will have the opportunity to experience like locals off the tourist track. Rose Island is much more out of the way and apart from the hotel there is very little.
The ability to use the lounge during the day for drinks or quick snacks will offset the cost of the shuttle (€ 15 per person per
stay). You have also options for the public transportation (vaporetto) with standard ride or daily tickets if you plan to visit the nearby islands, and in this case you can avoid the shuttle.
