Thank you for that info. As we are having a 12 hour transit, was thinking of getting a shower in the lounge and have some breakfast, then head out either to a nearby town or the shopping center next to the airport for a few hours before heading back to the airport. This would be my first time in japan and am confused with how it works there.
It does not quite work straight forward. The departure levels is separated from the arrivals level for international flights. That means there is not an exit to arrivals once you are in the lounge. You will need to speak to members of staff, and be allowed back through to arrivals.
