Huh? I was agreeing with you. What didn't you understand? As I said, AA is an excellent option if you don't need AS segments and are a little short of the EQM requirements. Particularly, so, if you are East of the Rockies. Additionally, I said that, otherwise, short hops on AA wouldn't be considered "mileage runs" as are generally accepted, which is the topic of this thread, No?
I also pointed out that AA Basic Economy fares in fare class B are now an eligible fare class for earning in Mileage Plan. B fare class was added before the changes to AS Saver fares. You were
wrong! in excluding them. That was for the benefit of all readers. Interestingly absent from your reply.

And, once again, I agreed with you. How is what I said differing from your dialouge? I just rewrote it to remove the reference to a SDC, which it is not!
A SDC is defined, has a prescribed schedule of fees & waivers and can mostly be completed online. A SDC is permitted to/from co-terminals, and red-eye flights to the day prior if departing between 12:00 am & 4:00 am. Those cannot be exercised online and require agent assistance.
A reroute, 2 days prior or 2 hours prior is a change and subject to a fare difference. Full stop. If the agent waives the fare difference, it doesn't make it a SDC. It is an important distinction so there is a clear understanding for all readers. If you have Elite status, a good agent waiving the fare difference may be more likely, but it is definitely YMMV. If a segment is added to your itinerary, AS is eating the segment tax if they aren't charging for it.
So, in summary, I agreed with you, you were
wrong on AA basic Economy fares earning in Mileage Plan and don't call something it isn't!
When you are "flaunting" your technical knowledge, perhaps an explanation would be appropriate. I had to look up what a nacelle was and then realized I had an incredible unobstructed view the last time I was in one.
