Part of the reason (and to make things worse), I also think Ba stats now routinely underestimate delay by gaming the system, ie they’ll close doors asap and vacate the gate so the clock stops but several of my flights then stayed motionless another 20-30 minutes (one much longer) before actually leaving.
I haven't flown much in the last 6 months, but this has more often been the case earlier in the year that doors were closed but then there was some excuse and we didn't take off for another 30+ minutes.
Over 2022, the biggest issue was
arriving at LHR, because there'd be no gates ready. I've landed early/on time at least 3 times that I remember, but then waited an hour on-board (and usually ended up in a bus back to T5A). It happened once with AY at T3 as well, so it wasn't just BA.
