Just a quick update on this thread given I had some recent VY flights. This post is to vent a bit.

Apparently my corporate agency sources TimeFlex fares from the BA inventory (via Sabre), the other fares are sourced via some other provider or direct. I only buy TimeFlex fares as it suits my needs: carry-on luggage, fast track in BCN and free changes, but doesn't give checked luggage (which is the main different to the Optima fare, but kind of useless for short business trips). Check, I love TimeFlex fare!

But by being on BA inventory, the ticket code starts with 125. And that, according to [email protected], is not accepted to be credit to Iberia Plus. So, for these cases, I'm going to avios.com a few weeks later, getting the Avios there and then transferring to Iberia. The issue with that is that I don't get status points, but fortunately I haven't been cutting that close last year and this year to really depend on a few status points from Vueling. And because of that, I have been prioritizing U2 on the way in to BCN (U2 usually uses better gates at BER) and VY on the way out (to use Fast Track) – the Avios from that are always peanuts anyway and without the status points it is not worth the fight.

Once again IAG letting me down.
