As an OSL based flyer we still need to connect if going anywhere exciting. Many Norwegians have connected elsewhere than CPH for decades due to SK’s weak intercontinental network. KL realised this years ago, which is why they have a lot of traffic (I believe Norway is one of their top markets in Europe). Anyways, I’ve stopped chasing miles and status and operate as a free agent. Back in my EBG days most miles were earned on other airlines anyway, as my travel pattern doesn’t match SK’s network (I hardly ever travel domestic, nor do I enjoy spending time in the US). SK’s product is also pretty lame, to use a modern term. I’m happy for the employees who’ll get owners with deep coffers as well as an industrial investor in AFKL.
