1) the $8 billion figure is in Australian $. In US $ it's 3.8 billion.

2) the following statement from the article
"Airbus Industrie says the very
large aircraft will be a bigger
revolution in air travel than the
Boeing 747 more than 30 years ago."

is a crock of ****. Anyone who knows anything about commercial aviation history knows that the 747 "democratized" air travel for ever. Adding some seats to the upper deck is a far cry from what the 747 did. Airbus should get a grip on reality.
