I assume this thread is a wind up but just in case it isn’t here’s my experience:
I used my first ever Amex 2-4-1 for a pair of prime time (flying Jan 2024) return club flights LGW to ANU. Cash cost to me was circa £1k for taxes etc after using the voucher and avios ( earned on my Amex) . Actual cash price of the pair on a revenue booking was around £8k so hardly worthless.
