Exactly 7 years ago I flew DUS-DXB and back in an Emirates A380 for around 360€, a flight of around 6,5h each way, in a seat that was considerably better than Aegean's seats, with food that at the time was only comparable to Aegean's business class meals (not sure how they fare nowadays), all the while receiving 4000 miles (including a registration bonus of course, but still, that was far from being their cheapest economy fare!) and train tickets both ways in Germany!
That Aegean would charge such prices ex-ATH for a route that's marginally longer than, say, Dublin or Lisbon, where their A fares cost less than the P fares to DXB, is probably a sign of what's still to come

About the same time I booked a return special fare from London to France for £150 in business with BA. Now BA is asking for £130 just to upgrade the one leg. Oh and it’s “limited offer”. Things indeed have changed.
