With my last redemption booking, I phoned to change the return flight (before flying the outbound sector) and received the email confirmation complete with ticket number. I checked in and flew the outbound successfully but when I tried to check in online for the return, the app gave me an error that said it couldn't find the ticket number. A call to the GGL line confirmed that they had failed to issue the e-ticket for the return flight and ticketing was able to correct this immediately. But even getting the email with the ticket number is no guarantee that all the flights in the booking have been ticketed successfully!
I'm curious, did the ticket number show up on both outbound and inbound sectors (when you swipe left) on the app?
I find the BA app is superior to the other airline apps out there, if you know what you're looking for and understand its quirks.
