Too far away - would require a minimum 2 connections and too expensive to get there, unfortunately... Nearest international hub is IST and it is 3.5h flight away.

If willing to fly to Central America I would suggest Costa Rica. Warm waters and can do some additional traveling around to parks and other places. Specifically, look at the Nicoya Peninsula one can find a variety of places to stay.
Flying to Miami would take less time and would be less expensive in their situation.
