Odd row seat, window, Rows 3, 5, or 7 = middle of the cabin (to avoid galley/lavatory noise/smells), and most importantly, on the "north" side of transatlantic flights so I don't get the glare of the sun.

It's been years since I flew the "diagonal" routes to Australia and New Zealand -- not sure which side of the plane to choose in that situation.
