My parents and I will be flying Scoot for the first time in November SIN-VTE (only carrier that flies nonstop between the two cities and not daily). If you do not purchase a seat assignment, it will clearly be assigned at check in. My question is if we book together as party of three, does Scoot's system try to keep us together or could we get split apart on this 3 hour flight? Otherwise, we'll do the $6 USD seat assignment each.

We've flown Air Asia before so are familiar with Asian LCC carriers.
