Sometimes, BAEC ends up being nice and renewing people who have not requalified by right, though I'm not too sure where we stand on that in the post-Covid period after the extensions. Having said that, I'm with others who say that I'd expect BAEC to be more tolerant of TP shortage than of qualifying flights shortage. Put yourself in BA choose, if you had to pick one of two following GCHs who have not managed to requalify as gold to renew their status, everything else being equal, which would you prioritise?:
- pax 1 has only managed to get 1200TPs but almost exclusively on BA
- pax 2 has managed to reach 1500TPs but only took two flights on BA
I know how I would hierarchise the two files myself.
