I do have Brokerage accounts self-directed from Schwab, Vanguard, and Fidelity. I can transfer my Roth IRA there, is that a self-directed or i have to pay advisor fee?
Is there a fee associated with your ROTH IRA?
To my knowledge, E*Trade accounts do not count as Brokerage. They may help the rep as they count as household assets for purposes of compensation if the FA is granted visibility. Example, $100k MS account, $250k E*Trade account. If visibility granted, FA won't get paid on E*Trade business, but the household would be $350k, which can help.
Not sure about preferred savings if it's in CashPlus. If it's in a separate account, such as an Active Assets Account (AAA), I *think* it would count.
On my Roth, I have assets to the point that most fees would be waived as a client. Otherwise, there would be an annual fee. The exception is that if you had a managed account, because they are charging you a fee to manage the assets, typically the annual fee is waived on a managed account.
If you transfer a Roth IRA from a competitor to MS, that should count as a brokerage relationship. If it went to E*Trade, then to my knowledge, that would not count for that purpose.
As always, refer to the terms and conditions. Here's the schedule of fees.
