Gotta say looking at typical seat maps/availability, the general crowd has figured out pretty much these preferences. IME, odd windows gone first, then even windows, and front cabin usually taken up as well, except maybe D/G.
Also have noticed Row 9 among the last odd windows to be chosen, presumably due to proximity to galley/lav on the seat map. Although to me they're barely noticeable from that seat.
