I am an EC gold member and very close to hitting my tier points requirement for EC gold. For this year I have crossed my tier points requirement but am falling short of 2 flights to complete the 4 qualifying flights requirement. I find it incredibly unlikely that BA would waive the requirement at this point in time. Frankly, 4 flights for Gold/OWE is a pretty low bar and travel has largely recovered post covid. I suppose anything is possible, but if you genuinely care about maintaining Gold, I'd figure out how to complete the segments. They may waive something for a "high value" customer, but if you aren't even hitting four segments (which can be done in as little as one round trip if you have connecting flights) during a qualification year you probably aren't going to fall into that category...
