To be clear, the C+ upgrade window for Delta opens just AFTER booking for a Plat. You cannot choose a C+ seat as a Plat during the booking process itself; you can choose an exit row and then hope there are C+ seats available for DL to upgrade you to 10-30 minutes after you finalize the booking.
