Recent Budget Tesla rental, the car they gave me didn’t have the J1772 adapter (US rental), but I knew another one had it. I had my own in my suitcase (always travel with it if I plan on renting a Tesla), but since the rental guy was standing right there, I told him the adapter was missing and that I needed one and would take one from the other vehicle. He looked at his manager, who also was standing there, and she just shrugged and said “they keep disappearing”. (Yeah, right, but I won’t be paying for it upon return).
They didn’t want to take it from another car and I wasn’t too bent out of shape. It was more not wanting to deal with a chargeback with Amex battling Hertz. What’s worrying is 50% of the Hertz fleet at EDI looked to be EV and Charging in the highlands is spotty so having the cables etc is key if you have access to charging.
